Outdoor Guide – Det Sydfynske Øhav (The South Funen Archipelago)
Mobile application – find your way around Det Sydfynske Øhav’s (The South Funen Archipelago’s) offers to active nature lovers
In 2914 Naturturisme I/S released a mobile application: Outdoor Guide – Det Sydfynske Øhav, The goal was to visualise the many outdoor possibilities in Det Sydfynske Øhav on a trendy platform. The app is thought to be the ultimate navigation tool for people with a taste for outdoor adventures – whether you explore the area as a diver, spear hunter, UW-hunter, wind- or kite surfer, kayaker, hiker or horseback rider. The Outdoor Guide shows the way to hotspots, routes, facilities and accommodations.
Background and Purpose
The archipelago contains a sea of outdoor experiences and facilities that are not always easy to find as a visitor. The purpose of the app is to ease outdoor enthusiasts’ way to experiences and facilities while on a trip. But it must also be a platform of information for the many possibilities during the planning process. Furthermore, the app must give clear instructions about relevant safety aspects and show the protected areas for the visitor to best take flora and fauna into consideration.
Possibilities and Advantages
The app operates offline so that all information is available, even if a mobile network is not.
A substantial part of the app contains a detailed map with a nautical chart and other hydrographical informations, and it is updated to keep up with the latest technological development. The data content is expanding and kept up to date with input from the users.
The Outdoor Guide – Det Sydfynske Øhav can be downloaded for free to both Iphone and Android.
Collaborators and Funds
The application is developed by Naturturisme I/S in cooperation with local operators and with support from Danish Outdoor Council and Oplevelsesbaseret Kystturisme.
