The School Camp Portal - Your entrance to Det Sydfynske Øhav (The South Funen Archipelago)
Naturturisme I/S has initiated and developed the project ”Lejrskole i Det Sydfynske Øhav” (School Camp in The South Funen Archipelago), a concept that is based on gathering the area’s unique qualities and activities regarding nature, culture and outdoor living as well as increasing the cooperation between the providers in the archipelago. Lejrskoleportalen gives teachers a hand in putting together an involving, community based and academically sound package of school camp activities, including the practical planning of a future school camp.
Background and Purpose
Det Sydfynske Øhav has a number of professional information providers and accommodation establishments with great experience in translating the place bound values of the archipelago into involving, activating and educational experiences for pupils etc. With us being centrally located in Denmark, it means that Det Sydfynske Øhav has a huge, and vastly untapped, potential as a school camp destination.
The goal is to strengthen school camp tourism for Det Sydfynske Øhav and to expand the season for the involved providers.
Possibilities and Advantages
The project highlights Det Sydfynske Øhav as the country’s preferred school camp destination.
Because of this project, a new standard for school camp activities and booking has been developed, and there is a significant activity on the portal where many school camps have been booked.
Specific results have also been materialised in the form of concept- and product development, networking and the development of a business model. Furthermore, Lejrskoleportalen secures professionalism and accessibility.
The project has been handed over to the involved providers and is now run in cooperation between Naturturisme I/S and the providers.
Naturturisme I/S is handling the marketing of the school camp concept from lejrskoleportalen.dk, Facebook and a joint secretariat, and the school camp operators maintain the final bookings and individual marketing.
