Longelse Coppiced Wood
|Longelse Bondegårdsskov is an area of old Danish coppiced woods, now protected and preserved as pristine woodland. The wood is now owned by Danmarks Naturfond (Denmark Nature Foundation) and is a historical setting in its own right, as it formerly belonged to Longelse Farm for centuries. |
The wood has a fine varied collection of deciduous trees, ranging from old gnarled Oak and majestic Ash to a thick undergrowth of Elm, Hazel and Hawthorn, not to mention an abundant flora and fauna. This enchanting wood is particularly worth experiencing in spring when the entire forest floor is in full bloom.
